God With Us (Immanuel)

The Old Testament Prophets gave Israel sneak previews, like short movie trailers, when they prophesied about the God’s plan to send the Messiah to be their Deliverer. One of the exciting clips that the Prophet Isaiah shared revealed a glorious truth about Jesus, namely that he would be called Immanuel, which means God with us (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23). Jesus being the Son of God, the 2nd person in the Trinity, brought the presence of God to us.

The presence of God makes all the difference in our lives. God’s presence brings hope and healing. God’s presence brings comfort to the hurting and broken. God’s presence bring calm to the fretful anxious heart. God’s presence brings confidence to the cowardice heart. God’s presence brings joy to the heavy heart. This Advent season God wants you to experience the present of His presence. Will you receive it? Will you slow down and recognize that God is with you and for you. Jesus truly is our Immanuel! May the meaning of His name take on deeper meaning for you during this season and cause joy, peace & love to saturate your life.
