A Light Has Dawned

This 2020 year has been one of the darkest and most difficult years for so many people globally. We have seen much sickness and death from the Coronavirus. We’ve seen natural disasters from hurricanes and wildfires. We’ve seen social and political turmoil, riots, injustice, confusion, deception, depression and Suicide. With the backdrop of all this darkness the light of hope and redemption shine brightly through the clouds of despair and doubt. Jesus is the light of the world who stepped down into our dark world to bring the rescue we all so desperately need. The Prophet Isaiah many years before the first coming of Jesus spoke of the light of hope that Jesus the Messiah would bring with these powerful words:

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:2, 6-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬
